How Soon Will I See Results?

Slow Results

Unfortunately, search engine optimization does not yield quick results; it's very much a long term proposition. Influencing the free search engines is like turning an ocean liner. You turn but the response is not immediate.

Results usually begin to appear anywhere from weeks to a few months (depending on the engine) after SEO work has begun. If pages are properly maintained and linking improved, listings may continue to improve or at least be maintained. Yet keep in mind at the same time algorithms change frequently so positioning will fluctuate and sometimes drop due to uncontrollable variables.

Here are factors to consider:

  • Search engines spider once a month so after optimizing and submitting it will be a minimum of one month before any positions appear. With the Google group (Google, AOL, and Netscape) you can expect to wait from 90 to 120 days.
  • Not until you get results back and see where you are positioned can we see where to optimize more effectively. We need to see what we are competing against before we can begin improving. Then after making adjustments we wait another 30 to 60 days to see what the results are and deal accordingly.
  • We take great care to ensure our methods are ethical. We do not take shortcuts that may be considered illegal or spamming. Ones that do this may experience instant results then begin losing if not dropped entirely because of poor practice.

So while others may make big promises of instant success, our procedure is slow and steady. Therefore you will have a slow and steady climb. This is the nature of true search engine positioning and will benefit you in the long run.
